Arrival day: in Manila and the WCG office

When we arrived in Manila, we experienced a slight delay due to paperwork; the chief delay was in going to the bank to get Philippine money for the relevant fees. By the time that was done, we had all our luggage off the carousel, and there were no lines for customs, and we had no problems. We were met by Eugene Guzon and some drivers. Bermie arrived while we were loading the truck.

We proceeded to the church offices, where we unloaded all our luggage and boxes, and were given Filipino foods for lunch, including buko (young coconut water) to drink. After lunch Mr. Guzon gave us a brief orientation to the mission trip, and various people stopped by to say hi (it was a bit hard to remember the names – jet lag didn’t help).
